UNIT MOTOR

The work of the Motor Unit is a particular, dedicated mission because its staff put all their energy into helping the Insured understand the difficulties of one segment - RC Motor - which is extremely difficult to handle, expensive and constantly developing and changing.
We manage a portfolio of approximately 3,400 policies with both private and corporate customers.

In case of car accident


First of all you shall inform us within 3 days. We will be able to help you to detect rapidly the parties’ responsibilities and the amount of the damage offering:

  • A simpler management of the claim procedures
  • A stronger support in case of challenges of the counterparty 

In this way you will obtain a faster settlement of claims.

You have to fill in the form Modulo Blu (direct indemnity procedure) and send it to Sopabroker:

Some useful suggestion:

  • Report the loss event. If you do not have responsibilities your premium will not increase.  
  • Fill in the “Modulo Blu” form. All the responsibilities for the loss event and possible contributory negligence will be defined.
  • Collect all the relevant information (time, date, place of the car accident, personal details of the drivers and of vehicles, description of the damages, presence of witnesses and Police), even if is not possible to fill in the “Modulo Blu” or the counterparty cannot sign it.

What is the “MODULO BLU” form?


Known also as “Agreed motor accident statement” allows simplifying the indemnity process from insurance companies. The form has to be properly filled in and signed by the parties involved in the car accident, then it has to be sent to the insurance company.

The most relevant information that you have to collect are:

  • time, date, place of the car accident
  • plate numbers of the vehicles involved
  • personal details and addresses of the insured people and/or the drivers.
  • personal details and addresses of possible witnesses and/or injured people
  • name of the insurance companies
  • description of the accident
  • signatures of both the drivers.

You should always have some copies of the “Modulo Blu” in your car, if you do not have any copy of the form you can contact us.
Boxes from 1 to 5 ask for general information (date, time, injured people).
Boxes from 6 to 11 and box 14 ask information about your vehicle.
In box 13 you shall draw the car accident, you have to be clear and pragmatic.
N.B.: do not forget to fill in this box, even if there is nothing relevant to point out.

What is the direct indemnity procedure?

In case of a car accident this procedure (in force from the 1st of February 2007) permit to damaged people non responsible (or partially responsible) for the accident to obtain the indemnity from their own insurance company. 
You can obtain the direct indemnity procedure only in case of accident between two motor vehicles, both registered in Italy (or in Repubblica di San Marino or in Stato del Vaticano), insured with Italian insurance companies (or with a foreign company that adhered to direct indemnity) and only when the driver suffered moderate injuries.

The direct indemnity applies to:

  • damages of the insured vehicle
  • moderate injuries of the driver (injuries that causes permanent disability not exceeding the 9%)
  • damages of properties of the driver or of the insured
  • damages suffered by passengers of the vehicle involved in the accident (also in case of serious injuries).

Direct indemnity not applies in the following situations:

  • if in the loss event are involved more than two motor vehicles
  • in absence of a collision between the two vehicles
  • if the accident happened abroad
  • if the accident involves vehicles registered abroad
  • if in the accident is involved a motorcycle without a new plate
  • in case of serious injuries for the driver

In all this cases the normal procedure is applied.

How to ask for the direct indemnity


If you think you are totally or partially right, you have to fill in the “Modulo Blu” and insert the following information:

  • names of insured people
  • plate numbers of the vehicles involved
  • name of the insurance companies
  • description of the accident
  • personal details of possible witnesses
  • the intervention of the Police
  • time, date and place when the damaged properties are available for the assessment to establish the amount of the damage

Indemnity request for passengers


If in the car accident passengers have suffered injuries or damages to properties, you have to declare it in the claim.
In this case, all damages will be refund by your company, upon request for indemnity with all the necessary documents to evaluate the entity of the injuries (documents from the hospital, medical certificates, diagnostic tests, x-rays, doctor report).

When Direct indemnity is not applicable

  • if in the accident are involved more than two motor vehicles
  • in absence of a collision between the two vehicles
  • if the accident happened abroad
  • if the accident involves vehicles registered abroad
  • if in the accident is involved a motorcycle without a new plate
  • in case of serious driver’s injuries 

In all this cases, the normal procedure is applied (art.148 Codice delle Assicurazioni). The procedure foresees that the claim has to be forwarded to the insurance company of the vehicle that caused the accident.

  • the plate numbers of the vehicles involved
  • the name of the insured people
  • the name of the insurance companies
  • the date of  the accident
  • the personal details of possible witnesses
  • the intervention of the Police
  • the description and circumstances of the accident
  • time, date and place when damaged properties are available for the assessment to establish the amount of the damage
  • the fiscal code of people entitled to compensation
    a copy of the “Modulo Blu” form
  • the age, the profession and the annual incomes of the damaged people
  • the entity of the injuries
  • the declaration about the pertinence of Institutes  that manage compulsory social insurances like Inps, Inail, etc.
  • the medical declaration about the full recovery, with or without permanent disabilities.
